Police gatecrashed two massive drugs farms producing cannabis plants worth £250,000 during two raids over the weekend.

Officers forced their way into a property in Union Street, Kettering, at around 10am on Saturday and another a few hundred yards away in Duke Street at 8am on Sunday.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Officers from the Kettering Neighbourhood executed two warrants in the town over the weekend where more than 320 cannabis plants were seized from two separate addresses with an approximate value of £250,000."

Kadri Bashaliu, 25, of no fixed abode, denied producing 255 cannabis plants at an address in Duke Street, when he appeared before magistrates today.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Northampton Crown Court on April 14.
