A British Bulldog who is ‘obsessed’ with Lion King has become somewhat of a TikTok sensation.

Bruce, who has just turned one, has lived in Upton with his owners since he was an eight-week-old puppy.

Since he came to join Carly Pinter and her partner, Bruce has always loved to see lions on the TV, so the pair thought it would be good to introduce him to Lion King.

Carly said: “Whether it is the news or something else with lions on, Bruce just loves it. He goes crazy.

“I really think he believes he is a lion, so we thought we would put Lion King on.

“We put the new version on and he is just obsessed with it. When Mufasa dies he goes crazy and starts barking.

“Whenever he was playing up as a puppy, I would just put Lion King on and would completely pause. He thinks he is a real boy.”

After enjoying Bruce’s reaction so much, Carly thought it was only fair to share the joy with others.

The four-legged friend got thousands of views on a British Bulldog Facebook page and then Carly’s niece suggested launching a TikTok for Bruce.

In just over a month, Bruce’s reaction to the Lion King has clocked up just shy of one million views, 105,000 likes, 2,000 comments and 16,000 shares.

Carly added: “As I was watching him one day, I thought ‘I need to record this, other people will want to see it’.

“He reacts the same way every time and if I need him to calm down, I will put Lion King on for him.

“We even have to get the films on our phones sometimes, if we want to watch the TV.

“Since the video on TikTok, he has got up to around 7,500 followers and has become a bit of a local celebrity.

“We have kids asking if he can come out to play, obviously he can’t, but they play with him on the lawn and they love it. He is just a well mannered and loveable dog.”
