Councillor Griffiths said the festival would showcase the county’s people, businesses and attractions.

He said: “From our rich heritage and thriving cultural scene to our communities, attractions, businesses and talented residents, this event brings together the very best of Northamptonshire in one place.

“There will be something for everyone to enjoy and I would encourage residents and visitors alike to come along, explore the different zones and celebrate our shared pride in Northamptonshire.”

Visitors can explore themed areas dedicated to heritage, culture and local produce, while heritage buses will also operate.

Wicksteed Park will run its half-term activities and offer discounted tickets to Northamptonshire Day visitors.

Celebrations will continue into the evening with a special concert at Kettering’s Lighthouse Theatre featuring musical theatre favourites, pop, rock and classic hits.

Theatre manager and singer Ashleigh Hallam will lead the performances alongside local tenor Joshua Daniel.

There will also be an appearance from Peter Pan ahead of the theatre’s forthcoming pantomime.

The evening entertainment will feature the cast of Kettering Theat’s SIX, members of KD Academy and specially invited guests, bringing together established performers and emerging local talent.
