A food and drink festival built out of specialised vans and horseboxes will return to Delapre Abbey this bank holiday to welcome home Northampton's-own Danny Sebastian.

The StreetBox Convention will pull into the historic stableyard of Delapre Abbey between 2pm and 10pm on August 30 for an evening of artisan food and drink.

The popular event sees street food vendors serving their wares out of specialised horse boxes.

A range of international flavours are on offer, from South Africa charcoal grills and Italian wood-fired pizza oven to Tex- Mex, plus vegan options.

And this month's event will also welcome Northampton's own Danny Sebastian, host of BBC's Bargain Hunt and Street Auction.

The antique-spotting specialist is coming home to host a charity raffle in aid of Pink Rooster, a local charity for people with dementia.

The event's hosts - The Gin Nook - says they have worked with Delapre Abbey to make the gathering Covid-19 compliant.

Attendance is limited, and entry will be allowed in timely slots of 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm to ensure social distancing.

A spokesperson from Delapré Abbey said “We’re delighted to welcome back The Streetbox Convention this August bank holiday weekend.
