A Northampton man has been jailed after being caught driving while disqualified for a SECOND time.

Vitalij Mlynovskis was given a 12-week suspended sentence by magistrates last October after being caught drink-driving while already banned.

But the 26-year-old, of West Cotton Close, failed to heed his final warning and was stopped again behind the wheel of a black Peugeot 307 in St Leonards Road on May 3.

This time magistrates jailed Mlynovskis for a total of 22 weeks — adding a further ten weeks to the original sentence for his "flagrant disregard for court orders."

He was also banned from driving for a further 57 months, until February 2026 and ordered to pay a £128 surcharge to fund victim services.

Mlynovskis admitted having no insurance and wilfully obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty on May 3.
