Award-winning parks across West Northants celebrate another year of Green Flag success
Five parks and green spaces across West Northamptonshire have once again been recognised among the best in the country after retaining their prestigious Green Flag awards.
West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) has announced that Abington Park, Bradlaugh Fields, Daventry Country Park, Delapré Park and Brixworth Country Park have all kept the nationally recognised accreditation, which celebrates well-managed parks and green spaces.
Daventry Country Park has now held Green Flag status for 27 consecutive years. Delapré Park retained the award for the 14th year running, while Brixworth Country Park, Abington Park and Bradlaugh Fields celebrated their 13th, 12th and seventh consecutive awards respectively.
The Green Health Community Garden in Daventry, supported by staff from Daventry Country Park, also retained its Green Flag Community Award.

The council said recent improvements had helped maintain the high standards across the sites, including the installation of new play equipment at Daventry Country Park and Abington Park, as well as enhancements to the pond at Bradlaugh Fields.
WNC also praised the contribution of volunteers, who have installed new planters and raised beds at Daventry Country Park and secured funding to improve the caddy pond at Bradlaugh Fields.
The parks are also supported by Community Payback teams and the LIVE team, which provides adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) with work experience while helping maintain the sites and run the café at Bradlaugh Fields.
Councillor Nigel Stansfield, WNC's cabinet member for environment, recycling and waste, said: "We are immensely proud of our parks, and retaining Green Flag status across all five sites is a fantastic achievement which demonstrates the continued hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
"Their continued success reflects the strong partnerships between the council, local volunteers and community organisations, who help ensure these much-loved spaces remain places that people can enjoy for generations to come."
The council is also encouraging residents to share their views on West Northamptonshire's parks through an online survey available on its website.
