13. The Spring Charity’s present pick helped 344 children
The Spring Charity hosted a present pick on December 19. Since July, charity manager Tracey Hamilton collected donations of new toys and gifts for families who may have otherwise struggled to buy presents due to financial troubles. The present pick was set up like a shop so families could select their gifts but did not have to pay, and presents were given to 344 children across the day. Photo: The Spring Charity
14. Santa’s Little Helpers returned for the fourth year
Founded by Emma Miller, the Santa’s Little Helpers group returned for its fourth year with the aim of helping the almost 6,000 group members this Christmas. Helping parents and families in need, members of the Facebook group posted toys they wanted to donate to others for free. These were claimed and will be given as presents, which has supported people through a financially challenging time of year once again. Photo: National World
