A Northampton neighbourhood feared a house was on fire on their street last night after a fire crew was called out to deal with an 'out of control' bonfire.

A fire engine was called out at 9.25pm on Sunday (April 14) to tackle the blaze in the garden of a home in Harlestone Road.

The "out-of-control" bonfire was spotted by neighbours, who also reportedly heard "an explosion" before the fire crew arrived according to a post on the Spotted Duston Facebook page.

No one was hurt in the incident.
