'Word of mouth is the only way to tackle litter problem in Northampton parks'

After reading Cllr Ashraf’s comments, I agree ('How can we make Northampton the cleanest town in the county? It's too late for an anti-litter campaign').

I am chair man of the Friends of Victoria Park and I litter pick daily and I ask people to use the litter bins, which they do.

I use the word of mouth tactic and it works.

Every day the bins are full I report them and they are emptied daily.

I think if people are aware of the situation they adhere to it. We have an influx of dog poo. I have campaigned on this issue.

I have placed dog poo bags on the dog poo bins. Ifeel that if people see some at hand they do what they think is best.
