We see many examples of people pulling together in these testing times. It is gratifying to see how willing many neighbours are to see to that those more frail can get the shopping and things that they need.

However, humanity consists of social beings. While many of us are adept at communicating using computers and phones, we need to be mindful of those who are not at home with, or do not even have, them.

Many will already be lonely in old age or with disability.

Sadly, society has already sidelined some of these people and the shut-down increases their loneliness. Tragically some have been unable to cope and have ended their lives.

Perhaps when things become more relaxed we should give more attention to these people. They are fellow humans and are equally loved by God.
