'The Buddies restaurants in Northampton had puddings to die for'
A sad loss and the end of an era
During sixth form in 1989/1990, me and my friends celebrated every 18th birthday at Buddies.
All of us loved the puds – their hot fudge chocolate cake was to die for. And their sundaes were very memorable. Such a huge range of burgers and we all loved it when they played Stevie Wonder’s Happy Birthday and brought out a cake.

I’m very sad that they are closing as my daughter Francesca who has complex and rare special needs, and is non-verbal, has been going there since she was three months- old. And she knows what Buddies means – she will miss it terribly.
She was an avid fan of their burgers and cheesy fries – and like me, a sweet tooth, I can still see her tackling most of those huge fudge sundaes and leaving very little for me! A sad loss to the town and most certainly the end of an era.
