Abington is one of the areas in Northampton that has seen a rising coronavirus infection rate.

It is hardly surprising.

What are the authorities doing about it?

In the early hours of one morning a group of upwards of 100 people gathered in Wellingborough Road.

There was much disturbance, fights, no social distancing, and no masks.

The police were called, residents had their sleep disturbed and probably totally for the entire night, in fear of what would happen next.

Since lockdown was relaxed there has hardly been a night when a disturbance has not occurred in the area.

There should be a police presence there at all times.

My daughter and small granddaughter were two of the residents who were affected by it, and have been extremely frightened as a result.

We have a video of some of it.

I thought my fellows Northamptonians had more sense and exercised responsibility. Perhaps it is a small portion who have none, but those involved should be not only fined but brought before the courts.

There are all manner of laws that can and should be now enforced.
