'Wouldn't Northampton be better off with an electric tram rather than e-scooters?'

At this worrying time I really do wonder at the level of judgement of those that thought that the trial of e-scooters was a “good idea”.

Apart from the usual suspects who may be app savvy but intellectually challenged they serve no real mobility purpose. It would be far better to invest in a town centre electrical tram or equivalent service from the far end of Gold Street to the top of Abingdon Street or further to help those who really need it, having to trek from inconvenient car parks and actually benefitting shop footfall when we really need to. In reality there is no will to do anything meaningful – let’s just stick with these foolish gimmicks.
