'Government should have done more to protect pensioners in BBC licensing fee row'

So the BBC can afford to put aside £38m to chase up pensioners for payment.

They could have compromised and offered half price fee instead.

Most of us pensioners, although not entitled to pensioner credit, are not rich.

Most live on their own with no family to do jobs around the house/gardening, thus another expense. All of us have lost the companionship of clubs and social activities due covid19.

And we are some of the poorest pensioners in Europe. Shame on the government for not protecting us. We will not forget this.
