The event, hosted by Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership, takes place at the National Training Academy for Rail in Northampton on Friday June 3 and 4.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to engage with audiences and funders to discuss opportunities for new projects and how to grow Northamptonshire’s creative and cultural businesses to attract future investment.

Already registered to attend the event include artists, those in theatre and dance, film-makers, designers, web and games developers, funders and philanthropists, academics, activists, teachers and members of the public interested in the arts.

Martin Sutherland, chairman of NEP’s creative and culture board, said, “There are more than 800 creative and cultural businesses in Northamptonshire employing over 3,000 people.

“We are one of the key priority sectors that make Northamptonshire a better place to live and work. We want this event to ensure that we are creating the right conditions for us all to be successful in more financially difficult times.

“Everyone is invited to join us, whatever their interest, questions, ideas or issues and, as we are talking about creative and cultural industries, we wanted Open Space Northamptonshire to have a creative approach.

“Therefore, we are delighted to be working with Improbable, creators of the Devoted and Disgruntled programme, to facilitate the two-day event. I’m looking forward to having some great conversations, making better connections and problem-solving with everyone who attends.”

The Open Space format is a methodology where all views are welcome, every voice gets heard and nothing is off the agenda, since those attending set it on the day.
