Northamptonshire vodka wins social media campaign to find nation's favourite craft spirit

Vodka produced by a distillers in Northamptonshire has been voted the UK's most popular craft spirit in a Twitter campaign.

Jelley’s Vodka, made in Brixworth, topped the #HotCraftSpirits leaderboard beating competition from around the country.

Despite only launching last year Jelley’s have grown a big fan base on social media and generated 5,012 votes for their Elderflower vodka.

Starting in March the social media campaign #HotCraftSpirits launched a Twitter powered leaderboard. Fans were asked to Tweet their support for their favourite craft spirits brand by using the campaign hashtag and the producers Twitter handle.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

Over the three-month campaign, 20,388 votes were counted with Jelley’s Vodka being crowed the winner.

The English vodka is distilled in the Brixworth countryside using coriander, liquorice, cardamom, orris root and lemon infused with elderflowers handpicked in the Northamptonshire countryside.

Lucy Kemp, co-founder of social media agency Clarity Comms who developed the campaign said: “We were delighted to see Jelley’s Vodka top the #HotCraftSpirits leaderboard. There were so many brands, including some well known names, in the top 20 so for a new product to receive so much attention is a great thing.

“We set up #HotCraftSpirits as a way for people to discover new brands being produced in the UK and we can definitely say we’ve achieved that. I hope the people of Northamptonshire continue to support the growth of independent producers.”
