Northampton's greenest bus driver wins eco-award
In the company’s continuing efforts to be even more green, Stagecoach Midlands is rewarding its top performing eco-friendly drivers at their seven depots.
To help identify the top performing driver at their Northampton depot, Stagecoach used its hi-tech eco-driver monitoring system on the dash, which measures the driver’s performance when accelerating, braking, cornering and idling.

He said: “I find the eco-driving system helps me to drive more smoothly, giving my passengers a comfortable ride and keeping them safer. It suits my style of driving. I never accelerate faster than I need to, for example.”
Kam Gill, operations manager for Stagecoach Northampton, said “Dean has consistently been one of our top scoring eco-drivers and is a credit to the depot. It has been encouraging to see a year on year improvement in our drivers’ performances.”
