Northampton care home nurse allegedly asked resident how they could '˜sit there' with private body part '˜hanging out'

A nurse who allegedly pulled a Northampton care home resident off a chair and asked her how she could sit there with a private body part 'hanging out' will face a disciplinary hearing.

Maureen Tavengwa is also accused of forcefully walking the woman to her room at Angela Grace Care Centre on January 2, 2015.

She will face a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday, September 14, at the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) offices in Aldwych, London.

Family-run Angela Grace Care Centre, based in Cheyne Walk, has space for 72 residents and offers care for people over 55 with a range of mental health conditions, including dementia.

It was registered with the Care Quality Commission in November 2014 and is yet to be assessed by the Government watchdog.

The NMC will decide whether Ms Tavengwa’s fitness to practice is “impaired by reason of (her) misconduct” at the hearing.
