An Indie-pop band largely made up of University of Northampton students have just released their first EP.
Five-piece Northampton band, Lunaxis, recorded the EP ‘What Good Is Their Love’ with the help of recent Popular Music graduates Jamie Hyde and Mattie Wensor – who helped write and record the EP as part of their final year project.
Lunaxis is fronted by Carly Loasby former Music student at the University of Northampton, with Jamie as drummer, Sam Loak as lead guitarist, Jae Sinfield as Bass player, Carl Lewis on Keyboard and Katie Rutter as backing singer.
The band have enjoyed a busy debut year with live performances at gigs and festivals in and around Northamptonshire, including Woodfest, the Northampton Music Festival and Green Meadows. The band were also recently played on BBC Introducing in Northampton.
Summing up the band’s sound and EP, Jamie said: “The EP was largely Carly’s idea of the various stages of a relationship and the songs follow in this order, beginning with Big Love, and ending with the title track What Good Is Their Love, being fairly self-explanatory.”
