Northampton Academy best in town for progress made by pupils to GCSE level

Northampton Academy has been rated as the best school in the town for the level of progress pupils make from primary school to GCSE level.

The secondary school has achieved a positive figure in the Progress 8 figure, which measures the GCSE results of pupils who got similar results at the end of primary school.

Northampton Academy’s figure of 0.37, above the average of 0, is the highest in Northampton and second only to Sir Christopher Hatton School in Northamptonshire.

Nat Parnell, Principal of Northampton Academy, said: “These results demonstrate the excellent progress made by our GCSE students during their time at the academy. “The figures provide a strong indication that, by attending Northampton Academy, our students are being given every opportunity to develop their learning and skills in ways that not only deliver strong academic performances but also equip them for the world of work and higher education.
