Aero Legends is a company that has been providing a package of flights involving a two-seater Spitfire from both Sywell Aerodrome, near Northampton, and Headcorn Aerodrome, in Kent, for several years.

But this Sunday (weather permitting) they will be expanding their operation by launching their exciting ‘Fly Alongside’ trips from Sywell too.

People will be able to enjoy a thrilling experience of flying in, or now alongside, the iconic aircraft used by the RAF during World War Two.

For customers who want to get a close-up view of the original MkIX Spitfire TD314 in flight, they will be able to fly alongside it while in a vintage de Havilland Devon, the only one of its kind still flying in the world.

The company says: “All our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards and their histories are set out on our website.

“Being the premier provider of Spitfire experiences in the UK, we are committed to making these aircraft more accessible to the general public and so keeping the memory alive of those who flew these aircraft during the war.

“All customers flying in the Spitfire, will be fully briefed from an operational and safety perspective prior to their experience flight and will wear an authentic World War Two-style parachute.

“We are proud to have some of the most experienced pilots on these Marques flying for us, many of which have long and successful careers with the RAF including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.”

It is hoped flights will start at 10am this Sunday (June 5) and flight packages will be offered at Sywell Aerodrome throughout the summer.
