The former Cafe Del Sol site could be conveted into a restaurant

An application has been submitted to Northampton Borough Council to change the layout of the former Cafe Del Sol site to be suitable for a hot food takeaway restaurant.

The plans, put together by Architectural Solutions, state the property has remained vacant since June this year despite “extensive advertising.”

The company says “little interest” has been shown in the site for any other purpose but a hot food takeaway and restaurant.

The applicant has proposed a redesign of the ground floor, including moving the kitchen to make the site more attractive to a potential future occupier.

Burger King opened a new restaurant in the unit opposite the Cafe Del Sol site earlier this year.

The plans do not state what sort of hot food takeaway or restaurant may move into the vacant site.
