Newly refurbished nightclub equipped with safe room will open it's doors to 800 Northampton residents this month.

Dutch native, Eden Stuijs has taken over former club once known as Atmosphere and has confirmed the appearance of world-renowned Fat Man Scoop in February.

The nightclub owner told the Chronicle & Echo that the club’s main priority is safety and they have introduced a safe room so people don’t have to spend time alone on the streets.

He said: “I’m going to have a safe room for people that are drunk, they can come in here and chill out. I don’t want to see people alone on the streets, they can have some water and stay safe. It’s a room to use if they need somebody to pick them up, the police really appreciate it.

“I’m thinking about putting lockers in the club, so girls can protect their bags for the night.”

The club, which is currently named Eden after the owner, will introduce student nights on Wednesdays with all drinks priced at £1 and free entry.

He adds: “Since I was nine or 10 I have wanted to own a nightclub. I used to open clubs for people all over the world, in America and the Caribbean. I have hosted parties with Tiesto.

“I love Northampton, I see a lot of potential in it. The new university will be built soon and 20,000 students will soon be coming to the town.

“We need to bring something new to the town, the nightlife is all the same. I’ve got the best light show in Northampton, for sure, I’ve got eight moving heads, one strobe light and two big lasers.”

The club has taken only six weeks to restore and has introduced a stage and a private room for up to 50 guests to hire for functions.

The revamped club will open it’s doors on Saturday, December 17 with guest DJ Liam M.
