New £1.5 million investment in National College for Motorsport in Silverstone
The new building will increase the capacity of the National College for Motorsport, run by Tresham College of Further and Higher Education in Northamptonshire, by an extra 240 students by 2021.
Kier Construction began working on the brand new site, built by Silverstone Parks, in May to ensure that the new premises will be ready to open in September 2016.

Hide AdDavid Higham, Vice Principal at Tresham, stated: “We are really pleased to be able to expand our motorsport training provision so we can welcome additional full time students and apprentices from across the world to benefit from the specialist training that we provide at the National College for Motorsport.
“Our industry experienced staff work alongside race teams to the design the curriculum for our students and apprentices to ensure that they are work ready and progress well with their future employers”.
MEPC’s Roz Bird, Commercial Director for Silverstone Park, said the college was a “fantastic place to learn”.
He said: “This is wonderful news in terms of the skills agenda and a real inspiration for youngsters – particularly given the National College for Motorsport’s proven track record at Silverstone Park for producing some of the best-qualified and most successful young mechanics in motorsport today, both at national and international level.”
