Music, arts and crafts fun day in Northampton town centre this weekend

The second in a trio of Summer Fun Days will take place this weekend, with music, arts and crafts for all the family to Northampton town centre.

On Saturday from 11am to 3pm, family-friendly performers and entertainers will be on the Market Square and All Saints Piazza.

Visitors can enjoy music and singing and even try their hands at some arts and crafts.

Matt McGuinness and the MLC will be performing indie-folk music along with soul and RnB singer Casey Leigh, who has toured her music around the UK, Ireland and South Africa.

Meanwhile artist Abi Sawyer will be inviting the young and the young at heart to get creative in her interactive arts and crafts workshops.

This is the second of three Summer Fun days jointly organised and funded by Northampton Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID), Northampton Borough Council and Starbucks, to celebrate the town centre’s creativity.

Jessica D’Aulerio, chair of Northampton town centre BID, said: “We’ve had a fabulous summer so far in Northampton town centre and are very excited to celebrate the bank holiday weekend with a day of family-friendly entertainment.

“There are some truly talented musicians lined up, and Abi Sawyer’s workshops will be the perfect way to keep kids entertained.

“We’re sure the second Summer Fun day will encourage more visitors into the town centre and provide a positive knock-on effect to businesses in the area.”
