Mum of two-year-old girl criticises manufacturer after custard pot for daughter's feeding tube found to be full of mould

Louise Dyball of Southfields opened the Ambrosia custard pot to feed to her daughter, Lacie-Mae, who was born 12 weeks premature and weighed 1lb 2oz, as she struggles to digest wholesome foods.

But upon opening the lid, she described the product smelt and it was growing with mould.

She said: "I opened it on Thursday (March 30) to give it to my daughter for her dinner.

"The mould was quite thick it seemed to have grown right down the pot but it hadn't been opened.

"It wasn't very nice and it did smell mouldy. I want to make other mums aware"

Louise keeps her daughters food in plastic storage draws in the kitchen as she has to keep Lacie-Mae's food sterile.

She said that she brought it to Ambrosia's attention at about 5pm on March 30 and all she was offered in return was a £5 voucher.

The expiry date on the custard product is June 2017.
