A motorcyclist suffered a serious leg injury after being involved in a crash.

The Magpas air ambulance landed in Irthlingborough at about 5.45pm yesterday (Tuesday) to treat the motorcyclist who had been injured in a collision with a car.

Magpas doctor Richard Booker and paramedic Chris Hawkins assessed the man in his 20s, who had sustained a serious injury to his leg.

They gave him advanced pain relief and sedated him at the scene before going with him by land ambulance to Northampton General Hospital.

A spokesman for Magpas said: “He was in a stable condition upon arrival at hospital.”

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were chief pilot Richard Eastwood and crew member Roger Sheridan.

An EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance.
