Motorcyclist injured in crash that has closed A5 near Towcester

Police have closed the A5 north of Towcester after an accident involving a car and a motorbike.

The accident happened near the turnoff for Foster’s Booth Road, Pattishall, at about 7.40am on Friday.

The road has been closed in both directions between the junction with the A43 in Towcester and the A45 High Street junction in Weedon Bec.

The air ambulance and other emergency services were called to the scene and the 45-year-old man was airlifted to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire with non-life-threatening neck, leg and arm injuries.

Nobody else is believed to have been hurt in the accident.

Police officers were at the scene for several hours.
