The pair drove around for a while, then parked in a disabled bay in front of the café shortly before they smashed their way into the closed store via the café at about 10.40pm, Northamptonshire police say.

The pair then ran into the store and waved their weapons at members of staff before leaving with a quantity of cash and vouchers.

The pair loaded the items, which they had put into red, cloth cash bags into the back of the Clio, which was later found abandoned in The Avenue, Abington.

Another silver vehicle was seen near to exit the car park at this time and officers are keen to speak to the driver of this vehicle.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they’d like to speak to in connection with the incident.
