Masked man threatens staff with kitchen knife before stealing supermarket till in Northampton

A man entered a supermarket armed with a large kitchen knife in Northampton before stealing the till and charity box.

The incident happened on Sunday, November 12, at about 9.45pm at the Co-op in Olden Road, Rectory Farm, Northamptonshire Police today revealed.

The man entered the store armed with a large kitchen knife before he threatened staff with the knife and stole the till and charity box.

A police spokeswoman said: "The offender is described as about 5ft 10in, of stocky build, his face completely covered with a black ski mask.

"He spoke with a Northampton accent and was wearing an all navy blue Lacoste tracksuit, with a grey hood up and red Nike trainers with white laces.

"He also wore black gloves and was holding a large, silver kitchen knife."
