Fire, police and the ambulance service each scrambled to a smoke-filled address in Garrick Road last night to reports of a fire.

At 6.49pm, three fire crews from the Mounts, Mereway and Moulton attended a kitchen fire, which was caused by 'smoke logging' to the whole property.

One man was rushed to Northampton General Hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Service with smoke inhalation after cooking inside the house was left unattended.
