Main road in Northampton shut after elderly man fell on zebra crossing

A main road in Northampton had to be closed this morning when an elderly man fell at a zebra crossing.

A stretch of Main Road in Duston had to be shut at around 11.30am this morning so ambulance crews could assist the man, who had fallen at the crossing near to Barber Jo’s hairdressers.

Stagecoach bus routes 5, 9 and 9A had to be diverted as a a result.

He is believed to have suffered minor head injuries and has been taken to Northampton General Hospital.

The road is now fully reopened.
