Magic visit to Northampton school from local author

An author whose books have been read by millions of children had a successful visit to two Northampton schools.

Sue Bentley, from Duston, the author of 70 books in the Magic Kitten series, dropped in to talk to Millway Primary School and Duston Eldean School pupils.

She said: “The kids were all really lovely, so enthusiastic.

“They asked lots of questions about what influenced me to write books and what it’s like to be a published writer.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

Sue has sold books in the UK, the USA and France with further sales in 30 countries and the audiences, which totalled 120 children and 12 adults, were keen to find out more.

She said: “The most popular thing with them was seeing the foreign editions I took along, especially the Japanese copy of Magic Kitten: Picture Perfect.

“A number of English and foreign editions were donated to the school library too.”
