Instagram post by Holly Willoughby gives sales boost to Northampton-based company

ITV This Morning presenter Holy Willoughby caused a sales rush for a Northampton-based womenswear company after wearing a dress it had designed

A Northampton-based womenswear brand has been inundated with orders for one of its dresses after it was worn by ITV presenter Holly Willoughby.

Cecily, based in Abington, sold out of a blue dress, which is priced at £199, within hours after the This Morning host posted it on her Instagram page on Thursday.

The online clothing retailer, which opened in 2012, has now relaunched the product and has received more than 50 pre-orders during the weekend.

Alice English, a spokesman for Cecily, said it the company had been inundated with requests for the blue dress as a result of the publicity from the TV presenter.

She said: “We have had a number of celebrities wear our products in the past but the day Holly wore the dress was the best sales day we have ever had.”
