A memorial event was held at The Collingtree pub, where India worked as a barmaid, on Monday night that was attended by the 20-year-old’s family including her brother Harry.

Dozens of bunches of flowers have been left outside the pub and a book of condolence has been set up inside.

Writing on Twitter last night, Harry Chipchase said: “Tonight I was truly overwhelmed with the amount of love and support me and my family received at the Collingtree.

“Love to every single one of you! I will do everything in power to make my big sis proud. I promise everyone!❤”️

Meanwhile, the headmaster of Pitsford School, where India was a pupil for seven years, has paid tribute to her.

Noel Toone said: “India was a delightful girl with a bubbly personality who would go out of her way to help others. She left Pitsford in 2013, her brother Harry is also an Old Pitsfordian and her sister Pia is currently a year 11 pupil.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”

Mr Toone said all the pupils and staff at the school, which only has about 40 pupils in each year group, had been left devastated by India’s death.

Mr Toone said: “India was an outstanding sportswoman and was an inspiration to all the younger girls. She was a qualified netball umpire.

“She was always smiling and had a great work ethic.”

India left Pitsford School three years ago and studied Health and Social Care at Northampton College.
