If the shoe fits..! Manufacturer makes handmade bespoke shoe for Northampton Town boss as a thank you

Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder will have an added bounce in his step up and down the touchline when he receives a pair of specially made shoes.

The Cobblers boss was measured for his ‘last’ by Northampton company Spring Line earlier this week. A last is a handcrafted mould of a foot that is then used to make the perfect fitting shoe.

Mr Wilder’s shoe will be made by Barkers of Earls Barton, using the hand-crafted last.

Michael James, from Spring Line, said: “We wanted to do this for Mr Wilder due to the fantastic achievement with the club this season through extremely tough conditions.”

Spring Line supplies all of the Northamptonshire factories and has a bespoke service for measuring feet.

“We have made lasts for many famous people, including HRH The Queen, Sir Paul McCartney, Vinnie Jones, Freddie Flintoff and even a size 22 for Shaquille O’Neal, the USA basketball legend,” he added.
