Ideas on things to do over the Easter weekend in Northampton

Easter egg hunts, craft workshops and plenty of fun activities, as well as free parking, are being offered by Northampton Borough Council over the Easter holidays.

Children can take part in Abington Park Museum’s festive Easter egg hunt around Abington Park and be in with a chance of winning a chocolate egg. The trail starts on Good Friday through to Easter Monday from nonn to 4pm. It’s only £1 to take part and all ages are welcome.

Northampton Museum & Art Gallery will be holding a Leather Stamping Workshop where you make your own unique, genuine leather key fob, bookmark or wristband. This workshop is on Thursday March 31, 1.30pm to 2.15pm and 2.30pm to 3.15pm and is suitable for all ages.

Families can enjoy an afternoon of bee activities and games for all the family in the Bees Knees workshop at Abington Park Museum on Friday April 1 from 1pm to 4pm. Join the hive of craft activity and play the Honey Pot game to find out how hard bees work to find their nectar and buzz around the museum following the bee trail.

Northampton Museum & Art Gallery will host a free Spring Crafts Workshop on Tuesday April 5 from 1pm to 3pm. Come along to make paper based crafts using different types of paper. Children will have great fun making spring flowers and animals in this seasonal workshop.

• Saturday - free parking in the council’s multi-storey car parks

• Easter Sunday - free parking in all borough council car parks

• Easter Monday - free parking in all borough council car parks

“Why not take advantage of the free parking offers by visiting the town’s Best High Street 2015, St Giles Street, with its variety of exceptional independent shops and eateries,” the spokesman added.
