Hundreds take part in bike ride at Silverstone circuit to support Northamptonshire charity helping new parents

More than 400 cyclists took part in the NorPIP Bike Ride at Silverstone Circuit on Friday, opened by Northampton Saints player, Alex Waller.

Other special guests at the event included two Formula 1 teams and bikers from Mercedes and Red Bull.

Tickets to take part in the event cost £20 and will go to support NorPIP (Northamptonshire Parent Infant Partnership), a charity that aims to help parents struggling to connect with their babies.

Through the charity, a team of clinical psychologists and parent-infant therapists with expertise in attachment theory and early intervention work with mothers who need help to attach to their newborn babies, a situation which can be linked to postnatal depression.

The NorPIP Bike Ride at Silverstone is one of the charity’s biggest annual events, as well as its Strictly-style dance competitions based in Towcester.
