Hundreds of schoolchildren play tennis to mark arrival of Davis Cup in Northampton

The 105kg trophy was displayed in King’s Park Sports and Conference Centre yesterday and a Festival of Tennis was organised.
Schoolchildren from Northampton were given the chance to play tennis and have their picture taken with the trophy.

Hide AdNina Graveson-Bridge, Regional Tennis Participation Manager, said 1,000 more people had taken up tennis in the county in the past year.
She said: “The whole point of having the trophy is to celebrate the team’s success and inspire people to take up the sport.
“You don’t get the chance to see a trophy like this very often.”
