Google crashes across the world — not just where you are in Northamptonshire

Google services have crashed across most of Europe, according to many reports.

Users began experiencing issues with apps such as Gmail, Drive, Hangouts and YouTube at around 11.22am on Monday.

Hundreds of users have expressed issues to DownDetector, an independent outage monitor, with the majority so far relating to receiving messages and logging in.

Google has not yet responded to the reasons for the outage which appears to be affecting users in the USA, Japan and South America.

But thousands took to Twitter and Faacebook — which are not Google apps — to voice their amazement as the problem halted work across the world.
