Former Northampton Town chairman has bail extended following January arrest

Northamptonshire Police has extended bail for former Cobblers chairman David Cardoza while investigations into the missing £10.25 million continues, a spokesman has confirmed.

The ex-chairman was arrested in January as part of the investigation into financial transactions between 2013 and 2014.

Mr Cardoza, 45, was arrested and released on bail on January 25 in relation to the investigation

It is understood that bail period lapsed a the end of April, however a police spokesman told the Chronicle & Echo it had now been extended.

Back in January Det Ch Insp Paul Spicer, leading the investigation at Sixfields said it was a “very complex investigation”.
