A 48-year-old ex-Northampton Saints player has lost more than four stone after his wife became fed up with cleaning crisp packets and pasty crumbs from the car.

After adapting his lifestyle following a 12-week transformational fitness programme from Back2Fitness, Ian Hunter - who played as a winger and a full-back for Saints - dropped just over 4 stone, kept the weight off and found his overall well-being has seen a boost.

Having been a professional sportsman, former England rugby player Ian had been in the shape of his life for many years and even following his retirement at the end of the 1999/2000 season, he still maintained his fitness levels for a number of years.

However, as the years passed carved out a successful career as a businessman, which includes a lot of travelling, making time for his wellbeing took a back seat and inevitably the weight piled on.

Speaking of what motivated him to reassess his lifestyle, Ian said: “I weighed in at 19 stone 7lb ; way over the healthy weight range for a man of my height, (6’2”) and felt uncomfortable in my clothes, tired and full of aches and pains thanks to the extra weight I was carrying – the time had come to act.”

In March this year, with his fiftieth birthday on the horizon, and after some sterns words from his wife, Ian took stock and decided it was time to make some changes.

“She sat me down and told me that I needed to do something about my lifestyle," said Ian.

"She’d noticed that I wasn’t myself, I was lacking energy, eating junk and inevitably, the weight had crept on. She was also sick of cleaning empty food packets out of the car!”

Back2Fitness was the perfect programme for Ian, appealing to both his sporting background and the need to be adaptable to keep up with the demands of his busy lifestyle.
