Residents have been asked to close their windows and the A45 was closed between the new roundabout at Weedon and Stefan Way roundabout in Daventry.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “Emergency services were called just before 8pm this evening (Monday, August 3) to reports of a large fire at Intapart Ltd, London Road, Daventry.

“Between 30 and 40 cars at the site were on fire. Seven fire engines and two water carriers were used to bring it under control, with support from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service.

“Fire crews were able to prevent the fire spreading to other stock at the yard.
