Employers across Northants thanked for backing Forces

SaBRE (Supporting Britain’s Reservists and Employers) organised for the employers to experience a day of “money can’t buy” activities before visiting the Ceremony of the Keys, an ancient tradition where the Tower of London is locked up for the night and has been taking place for around 700 years.

East Midlands Regional SaBRE director John Wilson said: “It is vital that we take every opportunity possible to thank employers for supporting our Reserve Forces within the workplace, and continue to raise awareness about the benefits that these individuals, who undertake military training, can bring back in to the civilian work environment.

“Training undertaken by reservists would cost a civilian employer thousands of pounds to provide, but by employing a reservist they can take advantage of this for free.

“The employers also had the opportunity to visit a Battle of Britain museum housed in the former Headquarters 11 Group bunker, from which much of the battle was coordinated, and enjoy a special lunch at the RAF Club in Piccadilly.”

Dr Mike Motley, managing director at TQ Training Group in Daventry said: “My company have supported the Reserve Forces for many years.

“Currently, we employ one Reservist, a WO1 in the Joint Service Signals Unit.

“Our employment of reservists and others currently or in the past associated with the military is on the basis that they bring a range of skills to our company including loyalty, dedication, professionalism, leadership and a good sense of humour.
