Emergency services called to scene of fire in West Hunsbury

Firefighters were called to a fire in Whitegates, West Hunsbury at 1.57 this afternoon (February 12).

The crew, deployed from Mereway, arrived at the scene at 2.02pm to find three domestic wheelie bins and some fencing on fire. This caused thick smoke to be released.

It took approximately 20 minutes for the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service to put out the fire and they left the scene at 2.22pm.

There has not yet been a confirmed explanation for the cause of the fire.
