Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision in a major Northampton road.

At 8.30pm tonight (Saturday, March 13), firefighters were attempting to free the person, or people, stuck inside of a vehicle on the A45 at the Swan Valley junction near Kislingbury and Harpole.

It is not known how the incident happened but it looked like only one vehicle was involved.

About three fire engines, three police cars and an ambulance are currently at the scene.

Part of the road has been cordoned off by police but traffic can still get past.

Northamptonshire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue have been contacted for more information.
