Blue Ford Fiesta crashes into lamp-post off busy Northampton roundabout, police confirm

Northamptonshire Police was called to a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision in St Peter’s Way, Northampton, at about 10.35am on Friday, March 20.

A police spokeswoman said: “The collision, which occurred at the roundabout junction, resulted in one of the vehicles, a blue Ford Fiesta colliding with a lamp-post.

“Although this was a damage-only collision, the female driver of the Fiesta was advised to attend hospital as a precaution following the deployment of her vehicle’s airbags.

“Due to oil leaking on the road and damage to the lamp post, this incident was passed on to the local authorities’ Street Doctor team.”

The incident caused traffic to back up towards St James Retail Park.
