Blogger Simon Tilley, who exposed Northamptonshire chief constable Nick Adderley, found dead in Corby hotel room
A man who was instrumental in bringing down a former top Northamptonshire cop has been discovered dead.
Blogger, investigator and child sex offender Simon Tilley has been found dead in a Corby hotel room.

Mr Tilley painstakingly supplied reams of research and information to reporters which helped them expose former Chief Constable Nick Adderley as a fantastist, leading to his sacking in 2024.
But Mr Tilley was also under investigation himself – and was convicted of stalking and child sex offences last month.
Mr Adderley is currently facing trial for some of the fraud allegations against him.
At the same time as he was unmasking Mr Adderley, Mr Tilley was intent on exposing others within the force who he believed had wronged him. His forensic and lengthy blogs and emails often included legally unsubstantiated and false allegations against police officers.
Reporters were told by Mr Tilley himself that he was under investigation for child sex offences after he had engaged in sexual communication with a child, who turned out to be an undercover police officer, in 2021.
He strenuously denied the allegations and told journalists that the evidence had been planted on his phone, and the accusations against him had been concocted by police to derail his own personal investigations into officers.
But in December 2024 he was arrested and remanded into custody, charged with stalking police officers on X and on his Wordpress site. He had also made public complaints about injuries he said he had sustained during an arrest.
He was then further charged with two counts of sexual communication with a child.
He stood trial in May this year. The jury was told that his stalking of the officers was his attempt to undermine the police investigation into him. One officer said that Tilley’s stalking was a major factor in them leaving the force altogether.
On June 4, he was found guilty of two child sex offences, perverting the course of justice and one of the stalking allegations.
Up until last week, Mr Tilley was still emailing Northants Telegraph reporters with details of perceived failures in force procedures and cases involving other police officers. Despite being found guilty at Stafford Crown Court, Mr Tilley maintained his innocence and claimed he had been set up by police officers.
He was due to be sentenced in September and was likely to receive a jail term.
Mr Tilley, of Kingsthorpe Hollow, is believed to have gone to the Hampton by Hilton hotel in Corby on Thursday (July 2), and posted about his trip to his Instagram account.
But on Friday when he failed to check out, hotel staff went to his room and discovered him dead.
The Northants Telegraph asked Northamptonshire Police whether the force would be involved in any investigation into his death, given his complicated history with officers, and we were sent a statement from a spokesman that said: “Police officers were called to the sudden death of a 46-year-old man in a hotel room in Corby, at about 12.35pm on Friday, July 3.
“We are not treating his death as suspicious and will be preparing a report for the coroner’s office.”
