Bar in Northampton town centre remains closed nearly one week on from fire in kitchen

A bar in Northampton town centre remains closed nearly one week on from a fire in its kitchen.

Bridge 26, in Bridge Street, which offers ‘bar and bites’, is not currently open to customers, as staff work to “rebuild and restore” the venue’s kitchen.

Firefighters were called to the bar on Friday May 1 at around 7.40pm, where they extinguished a fire in the kitchen. The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

In a statement on its website, Bridge 26 said: “Following an unexpected kitchen incident, we are currently working swiftly to rebuild and restore our kitchen.
