Eight Northamptonshire bosses pledge to treat soldiers, seamen and airman fairly

The covenant is a promise by the nation that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.

Eight employers in Northamptonshire have now pledged their support.

The businesses, all from the private-sector, have pledged to ensure that their employees who are Armed Forces Reserves, Forces veterans or military spouses are supported and treated fairly in the workplace.

Cliff Masey of Kingsley Consulting Ltd in Towcester, who pledged their support in July, said: “‘Having personally seen the skills and experience that serving reservists and service leavers gain throughout their time in the Armed Forces, these are all extremely valuable and transferable skills that every organisation throughout the UK can really benefit from.”

Each of the companies who have signed the Covenant have declared their support for Defence Personnel publicly and their names are included in an official online list of supportive employers.

John Wilson, of the Ministry of Defence, said: “I am delighted that a number of organisations in Northamptonshire have pledged their support publically, and encourage others to learn more about the many benefits employing reservists or former service personnel could bring to their business; such as enhanced leadership, management and team working capabilities.”
